Coldplay are using their fame for good. The band has teamed up with Migrant Offshore Aid Station, or MOAS, which helps rescue refugees in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. Over the past two years, MOAS boats have rescued approximately 33,000 refugees attempting to reach Europe on overcrowded and unsafe boats.
A clip released announcing the partnership features footage of refugees being rescued along with an a cappella version of the Coldplay song "Don't Panic."
"Every year, MOAS rescue thousands of people who risk death at sea while searching for a better life," frontman Chris Martin said. "But for an accident of geography, those people could be us and we could be them. For this reason, we're proud to support MOAS' life-saving work."
