Super Bowl 54 was the 11th Most-Watched Show in TV History

Super Bowl LIV - San Francisco 49ers v Kansas City Chiefs

Not only did Sunday's Super Bowl bring the Kansas City Chiefs their first championship win in 50 years, but it also made television history: the game was the 11th most-watched show ever, according to Fox.

The big game drew an average of 99.9 million viewers; 102.1 when you add in people who streamed the game, Nielsen ratings reveal. Only 10 other broadcasts in the history of television have done better -- and nine of them were Super Bowls. The odd man out is the final episode of "M*A*S*H," which ranks 9th with 106 million viewers.

Locally, Kansas City led the country in Super Bowl viewers. According to Nielsen, the game peaked with a 97 share in the Chiefs' hometown, which means 97 percent of the people watching TV were tuned in to Super Bowl 54.
